1.  TITLE:   Journaling Round Table

DESCRIPTION: Do you keep a journal, art journal, sketchbook, creative planner or something of the kind? Would you like to get together with others at SBTS who keep journals of some sort?
Would you like to try journaling? It is easy and fun. Anyone can do it. There are no hard and fast rules; you do what works for you.
This is not a how-to workshop but a round table discussion. We will share what we are doing and any tips, tricks or ideas we may have. If there is time we can work in our journals together. If there are new people who want to get started we will help.
Come prepared to share 1 thing with the group. It might be a journal page or spread you especially like, a tool, a technique, a supply or an idea.  Anything goes!

CLASS SIZE: Any

KIT: None

BRING: Your journals and journaling supplies. If you have ephemera, collage fodder and stuff you no longer need, please bring it to share with the group.
If you are new and do not know what to bring let us know and we will suggest some basics.

WORKSHOP LEADERS: Edie Evans and Sandy Sapienza will be moderators. Everyone shares in the leadership.

DAY/TIME & LOCATION: Tues. March 24, 3 PM - 4 PM

3. TITLE OF CLASS: Decorated Gift Bags

DESCRIPTION: We had so much at the last SBTS making decorated file folders that we wanted to do a similar activity at this retreat. Let’s make decorated paper gift bags. This is fun and easy and inexpensive.
We’ll provide each person with lots of gift bags, and a bunch of ideas & patterns.  Bring your ideas for decoration and the basic supplies you need. Some possibilities are stamping, stenciling, adding decorative tapes or stickers, collaging with paper or fabric motifs. You can do any designs you wish; you do not have to do the ones for which we have samples.
In an hour or so you can have over a dozen medium sized  hand decorated  unique gift bags to use through out the year. Plus, we’ll have a good time sitting around, talking and sharing ideas, as we work together.

KIT: $10 - You will get a set of 13 heavy paper gift bags in assorted bright primary colors. They have handles. The bags are 8”x10.25”. Patterns for these motifs: Bird, Birthday Candles, Elephant Baby, Elephant Indian, Fish, Man’s Shirt with Bow Tie, Octopus, Pig, Xmas Tree and Zebra. The kit includes all the supplies (except glue) to do at least 7 designs. We will have some tools and supplies to share including stencils, rubber stamps, old book pages, sheet music, ribbon, and scrap book paper.

BRING: What ever you want to use to decorate your bags. Any supplies you can share. Consider favorite stamps and stencils, acrylic paints and permanent stamp pads, fancy papers, glue sticks, tacky glue, scissors, a medium point black Sharpie and a pencil. The bags are bright colors so you will probably want some white and black paint. You might also want to use fancy tapes, stickers or glitter paint or markers to decorate your bags. You could also collage fussy cut fabric motifs onto your bags. Anything goes!

CLASS SIZE: 18 max.

It is simply…cut the patterns out, iron them to the FLAT FELLED denim seam. Cut feather shapes out. Iron stabilizer to backing fabric. Cut backing shapes out.  All ready for feathering and assembly.
