1. TITLE OF CLASS: Book with Wool
Felt Wrapped Cover
DESCRIPTION
Wool felt is easy to work with. It
makes very attractive book covers that feel wonderful. In this workshop we will
make a hand-stitched, wrapped book cover and construct a single signature book with
a simple binding and tie closure. The book will be approximately 6”x9”. This
technique is versatile; you can adapt it to other sizes, styles and binding
methods. It is also easy; beginners who have never made a book can do this.
(This class was planned for eco printers but everyone is welcome.)

Wool felt,
large enough to cover the front and back of your book wrapper base, plus 1” in
each direction. For this project you will need 2 pieces that are each
at least 18” wide and 10” tall.
One is for the outside and one is for the inside. They can be plain or eco printed.
The inside & outside pieces of felt can be different –
one printed & plain – or the same, your choice.
Note: If you do not want to bring/make
your own eco-printed wool felt Sandy will have some pieces available for sale.
Price: $25. Size: about 12”x 36”. First come, first served.
Note:
Most Joanne’s have 36” wide 100% wool felt by the yard for about $25 per yard.
Remember, you need wool felt;
synthetic craft felt does not work well.
2 Fusible web, with a
sticky surface in both sides. We recommend EZ Fuse II or Steam-A-Seam II. 5 9x12
sheets (1 package). Look on the notions
wall at Joanne’s.
